Update: Senior security commander kidnapped and executed in Aden

ADEN, Jan. 28 (YPA) – Local residents found on Wednesday the body of a senior security official, who was killed in the city of Aden, southern Yemen, local sources reported.

According to the sources, Political security director in Hodeidah Brigadier Ibahim Al-Hard, close to Tariq Selah backed by the UAE, was shot dead by unknown persons in al-Buraiqa district.

The source pointed out that citizens found Al-Hard’s body was tied with ropes in the area, in mysterious circumstances.

Al-Qasim Ibrahim Al-Hard, the victim’s son, said his father left his home on Tuesday at 7:00 a.m. in working mission for the city’s Passports Authority.

He added that his father was late until the evening and did not answer calls, and at 8 p.m. yesterday, he informed them that he was busy and that he would not be able to return.

He continued: “My father was late all night and did not answer our calls as usual, so, we informed the security. Suddenly, we received a report of the security that an unidentified body had been found and we went to identify him at the Republic hospital in Aden, so I confirmed that he was my father.”

The victim’s son, Al-Hard, said his father had no personal differences with anyone, and the motives and reasons for his killing were not yet known.

The city of Aden has been experiencing widespread insecurity, assassinations and ongoing violence against citizens ever since being occupied by the invaders.
