SANAA, Jan. (YPA) – US President Joe Biden will formally re-issue travel restrictions on travelers from several countries on Monday, US media reported.
According to the Associated Press, Biden’s restrictions will include non-Americans from “Brazil, Ireland, the United Kingdom, and 26 other European countries that allow travel across open borders,” according to White House officials.
South Africa will be added to the banned list because of concerns about the new strain that has spread there, officials said.
Biden overturned an order from former President Donald Trump in his final days in office, which called for travel restrictions to be eased from Tuesday.
Last week, he issued an executive order directing federal agencies to require international air travelers to be quarantined upon arrival in the United States.
The order also requires that the sample of all passengers arriving in the United States aged two years and above for the COVID-19 test be negative within three days before travel.
