Al-Houthi calls for donation campaign to rescue people in Socotra Island

SANAA, May 25 (YPA) – Head of the Supreme Revolutionary Committee, Mohamed Ali al-Houthi, called on the Yemeni people to start a donation campaign to rescue the sons of Socotra Island which was hit by Storm Mekunu.

In a tweet, he wrote on Thursday night, saying “We call for a campaign to donate for the civilians in Socotra Island in the amount of 100 million riyals urgently, who would like to participate and contribute in providing the amount to call 3000 Yemen Mobile or send a text message to confirm that the Yemeni people have the same suffering from Saada to Socotra.

He continued saying: “we call President Mahdi al-Mashat to choose one of the southern figures to run this donation campaign and deliver it to citizens in the Island.”
