Palestine addresses int’l orgs about companies operating in settlements

OCCUPIED PALESTINE, Jan. 24 (YPA) – The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs addressed on Saturday international organizations on the status of companies operating directly or indirectly with the illegal settlement system in the occupied Palestinian territory, including Al-Quds city.

According to the Palestinian News Agency (WAFA), the ministry has sent messages to the High Commissioner for Human Rights, Michelle Bachelet, the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, and the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Yousef Al-Othaimeen.

The  messages dealt with the negative and hostile impact of that on the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, on top of which is the right to self-determination, and other economic, social and cultural rights.

The ministry explained in a statement that companies and businessmen from the member states had concluded trade agreements aimed at organizing and importing products from Israeli colonial settlements, which violate the international law and are established on the land of the occupied State of Palestine.
