NCM warns of continued cold weather, effect of widespread dust

SANAA, Jan. 22 (YPA) – The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) on Friday expected the continuation of the cold weather on the mountainous provinces and parts of the desert areas and the internal highlands, accompanied by the widespread dust, during the next 24 hours.

In its air bulletin, The center indicated that the weather would be cold to very cold in the mountainous provinces, especially Saada, Amran, Sanaa, Dhamar, Bayda ,Al-Dhalea provinces and east of Mahweet province.

The effect of the widespread dust would continue on the desert areas of the provinces of Mahra, Hadramout, Shabwa, Marib, Jawf and east of Saada, as well as the northwest and central mountainous highlands of Saada, Hajjah, Amran, Sanaa, Mahweet, Dhamar, Bayda, and Ibb, the center added.

The center added that the active winds would continued on the south of the Red Sea and the entrance of Bab Al-Mandab and round the Socotra Island, causing the sea heaving and high waves.

The Center called on citizens, especially the elderly, children, and sick people in these provinces to take the necessary precautions to prevent severe cold shocks.
