Magnitude 6.8 earthquake hits Philippines

SANAA, Jan. 21 (YPA) – The European Mediterranean Seismological Center announced on Thursday that an earthquake measuring 6.8 on the Richter scale has been detected in the sea near the Philippines.

The center added that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 122 km.

The center had initially announced that the earthquake had a magnitude of 7.2.
