Tribal sheikh killed in Hadramout

HADRAMOUT, Jan. 21 (YPA) – A tribal sheikh was killed on Thursday by unknown gunmen in Hadramout province, eastern Yemen, a local source reported.

The source said that unknown persons opened fire on Sheikh Mesfer bin Awn Al-Saya’ri and killed him immediately, while he was passing through ‘Jahim’ area in Al-Abr district, which is under the control of the military leader loyal to Saudi-led coalition Hashem Al-Ahmar.

Sheikh “Al-Saya’ri” is one of the most prominent sheikhs who reject the expansion of the Islah Party in Hadramout, according to the source.

The assassination coincided with a similar incident in Shabwa, where a recruit of the so-called Shabwani Elite Forces was killed by unknown gunmen, which reveals the expansion of security chaos in the coalition-occupied southern provinces.
