Deputy director of Al-Jamhoria Hospital in Aden escapes assassination attempt

ADEN, Jan. 19 (YPA) – Deputy Director of the Board of Al-Jamhoria Hospital in Aden city, Dr. Tariq Mezza, on Tuesday escaped an assassination attempt, after being shot inside the campus of the hospital.

Local sources said that gunmen affiliated with the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) fired a hail of bullets at Dr. Tariq’s car.

In turn, Director General of Aden Police, Major General Mutahar Ali Al-Shuaibi, confirmed that the STC’s recruiters accused of shooting at the hospital’s campus were arrested to interrogate them to find out the circumstances of the case.

Rights activists accused the Aden security administration of hiding the circumstances of the case, its motives, and those behind it, serving the influential forces that control the city of Aden.
