9 Iraqi army personnel killed in US airstrikes on southern Iraq

SANAA, Jan. 19 (YPA) – At least nine Iraqi military personnel were killed and dozens wounded in a US bombing of Jurf Al-Nasr area of Al- Behbahani, media reported on Tuesday.

An Iraqi security source said the drones carried out the attack on Iraqi army and popular mobilization posts in Northern Iraq’s Babel.

He said the targeted area of Jurf al Al-Nasr  is part of the “Iraqi-Army Armed Forces” sector.

Local sources were quoted as saying that the explosions at Jurf al-Nasr were caused by US airstrikes. The sources also reported that US warplanes flew over al-Qaim area at the Iraqi-Syrian border.
