Water Minister discusses with UNOPS implementation of several projects

SANAA, Jan. 18 (YPA) – Minister of Water and Environment, Eng. Abdulraqeeb Al-Shormani, on Monday discussed in Sanaa with Director of the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) Khaldoun Salem Saleh, the possibility of implementing a number of projects for the ministry.

At the meeting, the Minister of Water confirmed that the ministry would implement the projects according to the approved and available budget.

Al-Shormani stressed the importance of financing sustainable projects and reducing emergency projects to a minimum, and that the implementation of projects should be through the Urban Cities Projects Unit in all provinces.

For his part, the UNOPS director confirmed that the office would work to strengthen coordination with the Ministry of Water and provide it with any new developments regarding support for the implementation of the Ministry’s projects.
