Saudi military committee leaves Abyan

ABYAN, Jan. 12 (YPA) – The Saudi military committee has left the coastal city of Shuqrah in Abyan province, southern Yemen, to the main base of Saudi forces in the city of Aden, local sources said.

According to the sources, the Saudi military committee had left Shuqrah after disagreements with the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) militias.

The STC militias refused to allow the forces of the 1st Brigade presidential protection to enter the city of Aden to settle in the Palace of Al-Masheeq,

The withdrawal of the Saudi committee comes amid stresses that the rest of the military component of the Riyadh Agreement, which witnessed formal measures under the supervision of Saudi forces, should be completed without any significant progress.
