Abdulsalam comments on Washington’s decision to designate Ansarullah as terrorist organization

SANAA, Jan. 11 (YPA) – Official spokesman for Ansarullah and head of the negotiating delegation, Mohammed Abdulsalam commented on the US’s plan to designate Yemen’s Ansarullah revolutionary movement as a foreign “terrorist” group

The US position is not a new, stressing at the same time that the US administration has failed in all its files and has fueled discontent against it and its key allies ( Saudi Arabia and Israel)  in the region.

“The US position is nothing new on a practical level, as they have committed the most heinous crimes, economic and humanitarian sanctions against the Yemeni people, military intervention and comprehensive support for aggression against us,” Abdulsalam said in a statement to the media.

“If there is no serious review, this situation will force us to deal likewise with the Americans in many files,” he added.

“We believe that Trump administration is in a state of obvious confusion. It takes decisions and positions in favor of multiple actors in overtime,” he stated.

The US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced Monday that the State Department will notify Congress of its intention to designate Ansarullah as a foreign terrorist organization.

The decision also intends to designate three of Ansarullah’s leaders, Abdul Malik al-Houthi, Abd al-Khaliq Badr al-Din al-Houthi, and Abdullah Yahya al Hakim, as ‘Specially Designated Global Terrorists.’
