41 tons of banned potato seeds destroyed in Dhamar

Dhamar, Jan. 7 (YPA) – The Customs, Control Office and the Anti-Smuggling Unit destroyed on Thursday 41 tons of banned potato seeds in Dhamar province.

During the destruction, the province agent stressed on applying legal procedures against traders who deliberately import goods and supplies that are in violation of specifications and standards and pose a threat to the country’s economy in general.

Director of Custom office confirmed the importance of applying legal procedures to face the dangers threatening the national economy, pointing out that the seeds contains a fungal disease that poses a danger to agricultural production.
