Violent clashes accompany Aden airport attack, STC closes airport

ADEN, Dec. 30 (YPA) – Informed sources at Aden Airport said Wednesday that violent clashes accompanied the three explosions that rocked the airport this afternoon.

The sources added that the clashes resulted in dozens of deaths and injuries.

Video clips showed part of the clashes, while groups of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s forces closing the main gate of the airport.

The clashes are continuing until the moment the news was written, local sources reported.

The sources announced that 27 dead and 50 other wounded in the airport explosion in an initial toll, noting that among the dead are director of Al-Mansoura Central Prison Naqib al-Yahri, undersecretary of Aden province Badr Ma’oun and deputy minister of transport Nasser Al-Sharif.
