SANAA, Dec. 28 (YPA) – The Turkish Ministry of Defense announced that it had conducted exercises for Libyan navy personnel on underwater defense in Libya.
The ministry said in a statement on Sunday that its multi-dimensional training courses for Libyan army personnel are continuing within the framework of the military training, cooperation and consultation agreement concluded between the two countries.
The statement explained that the ministry is currently conducting a 5-week training course for elements of the Libyan Navy in the field of underwater defense.
The statement also pointed to the continuation of another course in the field of Coast Guard work, which started on December 20, and lasts for 6 weeks.
Earlier, the Turkish Ministry of Defense announced that its forces had organized training for members of the Libyan army of the Government of National Accord to shoot with heavy weapons.
In November last year, Turkey signed a memorandum of understanding with the reconciliation government on strengthening security and military cooperation between the two countries.
