Protesters in Hadramout demand departure of coalition

HADRAMOUT, Dec. 24 (YPA) – Dozens of employees and citizens organized a protest on Thursday in Hadramout province, eastern Yemen, to condemn Saudi-led coalition occupation and the deterioration of the economy.

During a vigil in front of the provincial office headquarters in Mukalla city, the protesters demanded the re-opening of Al-Rayyan airport, which is controlled by Saudi forces and the opening of sea waters to fishermen.

The protesters denounced the high cost of living and the deterioration of the local currency, demanding accountability for the corrupt officials and establishing a state of order and law.

The southern provinces are witnessing a popular movement against the presence of the coalition and continual popular protests as a result of the economic deterioration.
