Islah Party arrests arrivals who come to obtain passports in Taiz

TAIZ, Dec. 21 (YPA) – The Yemeni Islah Party forces loyal to Saudi-led coalition have arrested dozens of citizens from hotels in Taiz city, southwest of Yemen, local sources reported on Monday.

“Islah military patrols raided, on Sunday evening, a number of hotels on Tahrir Street and arrested more than 40 citizens, who came with their families from outside the city to obtain passports,” the sources said.

The sources indicated that the detainees were detained in the basement of the Officers Club, located above the Civil Museum, confirming that they were subjected to assaults and beatings to extract confessions from them by force that they are members of sleeper cells belonging to “Houthis”.

Activists on social media have denounced the continuation of Islah to deal brutally with arrivals to the city of Taiz, and called on the “Hadi government” to pressure the Islah party to stop its violations against citizens.
