US intends to close two consulates in Russia

SANAA, Dec. 19 (YPA) – The US Department of State informed Congress of its intention to close two consulates in the Russian cities of Vladivostok and Yekaterinburg.

The Washington Post reported Saturday that the notification was sent to lawmakers on December 10.

Russian presidential press spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Monday that the possible closure of the US consulates in the Russian cities of Vladivostok and Yekaterinburg is unlikely to spoil Russian-US relations, noting that such relations are not at their best.
