SANAA, Dec. 13 (YPA) – Yemen discussed on Sunday with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) the projects being implemented by the program during the year 2021 at the Yemeni Red Sea Ports Corporation.
This came during a meeting gathered the Minister of Transport, Zakaria Al-Shami, with Nahid Hussein, UNDP Deputy Resident Representative in Yemen.
The officials touched on the difficulties that hinder the implementation of the projects in Hodeida Port by the Saudi-led coalition, which directly prevented from entry the basic requirements of technical maintenance and operating equipment.
Al-Shami noted that Hodeida port is playing an important role in providing maritime navigation services to the UN humanitarian operating in Yemen, as well as introduce basic and necessary aid and materials to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people.
The minister affirmed that the Red Sea Ports Corporation’s readiness to provide facilities and technical and professional advice that help the UNDP to implement its projects.
