SANAA, Dec. 10 (YPA) – The Russian Irkutsk Region Emergencies Ministry reported on Thursday that two major earthquakes had occurred in the Bryangari and Buryatia regions.
In a statement in particular, the ministry said: “ At 5:45 pm, a seismic event occurred in the territory of the Irkutsk region, with a magnitude of 7.6 at the epicenter, and in the city of Irkutsk 5-6 degrees, the seismic magnitude is 5.5 degrees, and the energy class is 14.0 degrees.
Later, the main directorate of the Ministry of Emergencies in Buryatia clarified the information about the intensity of earthquakes in the area, saying: “The force was 5.5 degrees, according to preliminary information, there were no casualties or damage.
The Russian Emergencies Ministry indicated that the epicenter was in the delta of Lake Baikal, 16 km northwest of Dubinino.
A state of high alert was declared in Irkutsk, while there were no reports of damage to buildings by townspeople.
In addition, the infrastructure of strategic facilities in the city continues to operate normally, and rescue cadres in the two areas are inspecting vital facilities directly related to securing the residents’ needs.
