Yemen, UNDP discuss project for qualifying Hodeida sea port

HODEIDA, Dec. 8 (YPA) – The Yemeni Red Sea Ports Corporation and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) discussed, via social media, on Tuesday a project for qualifying Hodeida sea port.

During their meeting held in Hodeiha, deputy the Corporation ‘s executive chief, Yahya Sharaf Al-Din, with director of the UNDP Catherine Kapothia, discussed also the coordination and work mechanisms and providing the port with equipment and cranes for unloading the ships that targeted by the aggression coalition aircraft.

The meeting reviewed the executive matrix for the first priority projects that estimated at two million and 850 thousand euros in the ports of Salif and Ras Issa, which was agreed between the Corporation and the UNDP to implement and rehabilitate what was destroyed by the coalition.

Sharaf Al-Din explained that the needs of millions of Yemenis of food, medicine, and all life and development requirements come through the port, which was subjected to systematic bombing by the coalition airstrikes.

Meanwhile, the UNDP official indicated that the UNDP would continue to work providing support to the corporation and the UN Mission to Support the Hodeidah Agreement.
