SANAA, Dec. 3 (YPA) – The China National Space Authority announced on Thursday morning that the Chang’e-5 probe has completed collecting samples from the moon, and samples have been sealed inside the spacecraft.
The spacecraft was launched on November 24, and landed in the northern region of Mons Romker in the vicinity of the storms, on the side near the moon on December 1, to complete the first Chinese mission to bring samples from an extraterrestrial object.
After collecting about two kilograms of samples and sealing them in a container, the ascent vehicle will take off and join the group of the orbiter and the return vehicle in orbit, and after the samples are transferred to the return vehicle, the boarding vehicle will be separated from the group of the orbiter and the return vehicle.
The orbiter is expected to carry the return craft to Earth, and the return craft is scheduled to enter the atmosphere and land in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in northern China.
