Health Minister meets Iranian ambassador

SANAA, Nov. 28 (YPA) – Health Minister Taha al-Mutawakel met on Saturday with the Iranian ambassador to Yemen, Hassan Erlo.

During the meeting, the officials discussed several areas of health cooperation between the two countries and ways to enhance and develop them.

Al-Mutawakel, in the meeting, reviewed the difficulties and challenges facing health situation in Yemen as result of targeting of the infrastructure of this sector and the destruction of more than 400 health facilities by the Saudi-led coalition.

The minister indicated that the aggression contributed to the spread of epidemics and diseases as well as preventing the entry of medical supplies to Yemen.

Al-Mutawakil affirmed Yemen’s keenness to enhance cooperation between the two countries and to benefit from the Iranian experience in the health sector and combating epidemics.

Meanwhile, the Iranian official affirmed keenness to strengthen cooperation with Yemen and exchange experiences in the medical and health fields, stressing his country’s the Iranian government’s readiness to support Yemen.
