Islah militants impose levies on locomotives in Shabwah

SHABWAH, Nov. 23 (YPA) – Islah militias in Shabwah province on Saturday imposed new levies on locomotives carrying food and oil products at all entrances to the province.

According to local sources in the province, the Shabwah Provincial Service Development Fund of al-Islah militias imposed 50,000 riyals on food locomotives and 5 riyals for each liter of oil derivatives.

Al-Islah militias have begun carrying out levies at Ain Bamabd checkpoint in the east of the province, at the southern al-Arm checkpoint and at Arma checkpoint north of Shabwah, the sources said.

Activists circulated on social media, pictures of financial bonds in which 50,000 Yemeni riyals were collected from one of the locomotives carrying flour for the province.
