SANAA, Nov. 22 (YPA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hisham Sharaf, discussed on Sunday with the recently-appointed Iranian ambassador to Yemen, Hassan Irloo, ways to enhance and develop areas of cooperation between the two brotherly countries.
In the meeting, Sharaf valued Tehran’s principled position rejecting military aggression and siege imposed on the Yemeni people, and its support of the international efforts to end the aggression that created the world’s worsening humanitarian catastrophe.
The minister stressed the importance of academic cooperation between the two sides, noting that Tehran offered scholarships in Iranian universities for development and qualification of Yemeni cadres in various fields.
Meanwhile, Iranian official said there is not a military solution, indicating that his country supports all efforts aimed at achieving a comprehensive political settlement and national reconciliation restore peace and stability in Yemen.
