SANAA, Nov. 17 (YPA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hisham Sharaf, met on Tuesday the Director of Emergency at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Dominique Burgeon.
At the meeting, Sharaf praised the important role played by the FAO in supporting the agricultural sector and combating insects, especially desert locusts, noting the agricultural sector is a top priority in the work program of the government.
The minister stressed the importance of increasing FAO’s support to the government in the agricultural field that contributes to alleviating some aspects of the repercussions of the humanitarian disaster that the aggression created in Yemen.
Meanwhile, Burgeon affirmed that the FAO’s keenness continuing to provide the necessary support to Yemen in the field of agriculture and bringing the desert locust under control.
