UAE-backed leader survives assassination attempt in Aden

ADEN, Nov. 12 (YPA) – A leader of the UAE-backed  Southern Transitional Council (STC) survived an assassination attempt in the southern Yemeni city of Aden on Wednesday, local sources said.

According to the sources, Head of the STC in Ahmad Mohamed Abdi in al-Tawahi district, was attacked with a knife by a close associate.

Abdi had previously been threatened with death by the same person. The man said he would enter his home and slaughter him in front of his wife and children.

The city of Aden has been witnessing a state of insecurity and overwhelming chaos, amid growing crimes of assassination and kidnapping in the city.
