Haniyeh calls on Biden to revoke decision to consider al-Quds as Israel’s capital

SANAA, Nov. 8 (YPA) – Ismail Haniyeh, head of Hamas’ political bureau has  called on US president-elect Joe Biden to “correct” US policies after announcing his victory in the race for the White House.

“The unjust US policies towards our people have made it  a partner in injustice and aggression, harmed the stability of the region and the world, and prevented the American ability to be a central party in resolving conflicts,” the Palestinian Information Center quoted a statement as saying.

The Palestinian leader urged the elected administration to “reverse the so-called deal of the century and cancel the decision to consider al-Quds (Jerusalem)  as the capital of occupation and to move the American embassy to it in violation of all international positions and resolutions.”

Haniyeh called for an end to all decisions concerning “attempts to settle the refugee issue, especially the reduction of support for the UNRWA and The Palestinian Refugee Agency in an attempt to end it.”

“The Palestinian people will continue their struggle by all legitimate means to end the occupation and achieve independence and return,” Haniyeh said.

“We will continue to vigorously promote the path of national unity and internal Palestinian rapprochement to meet all challenges seeking to settle the Palestinian issue and work to achieve the goals and national aspirations of our people,” he added.

On Saturday, major  US media outlets  announced that Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden had won the presidential election  by defeating  his Republican rival, President Donald Trump.
