Parliament passes freedoms committee, human rights’ report

SANA’A, Nov. 02 (YPA) – The parliament passed on Monday a report of the committee on public freedoms and human Rights.

In a session chaired by deputy speaker Akram Abdullah Attia, the parliament approved the report of the committee regarding its field visit to the arrest and detention centers in the capital Sanaa.
The endorsement came after the government side, represented by the Deputy Minister of Justice, Judge Saad Ahmed Hadi, and the deputy of the Ministry of Interior, Rizk Al-Joufi, committed to work to implement the parliament’s recommendations.

The parliament’s members stressed the need to adhere to the implementation of the Council’s previous recommendations related to prisons and prisoners and to address violations and imbalances contained in the committee’s report.
