UAE seizes Socotra lands, turning them into military barracks

SOCOTRA, Oct. 26 (YPA) – Emirati forces have seized strategic lands in the Yemeni province of Socotra, with the help of the Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s militias, amid popular anger demanding an end to tampering with Yemeni lands.

Informed sources reported on Monday that the STC militias are in continuous work through real estate brokers to seize the Socotra lands with the force of arms to establish military sites, misleading people that they are private investment projects belonging to the UAE.

“The UAE lures citizens of Socotra to sell their lands through its representative “Abu Mubarak”, who has managed to own many strategic lands, some by buying and some others by seizing them to establish private Emirati colonial projects,” the sources explained.

Large areas of Socotra land have been reserved to be used as military bases in favor of the UAE, in addition to seizing the lands containing stockpile of minerals with the force of arms by Emiratis.
