Yemen denounces French President insults against Islam
SANAA, Oct. 24 (YPA) – Yemen’s Foreign Affairs Ministry strongly condemned on Saturday the French President Emmanuel Macron’s incitement and insults against the Islamic religion and the Holy Prophet Mohammad.
The ministry said in a statement that these repeated insults of Prophet Mohammad fuel hatred among the peoples, and is a provocation move that negatively affects France’s relations with the Islamic world.
“The assault on religious symbols, beliefs and sanctities under the claims of freedom of expression is unreasonable and a crime hurts the sentiments of dignity of more than one and a half billion Muslims,” the statement reiterated.
The statement also called on the international community to condemn these statements that will ignite the spirit of hatred, violence and enmity among peoples.
