SANAA, Oct. 24 (YPA) – Flower bouquets were placed in four memorial sites in China and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea in honor of the dead Chinese People’s Volunteer Army in the War of Resisting US Aggression and Aid Korea.
According to Xinhua, the ceremony was held before a meeting held on Friday in Beijing to mark the 70th anniversary of the entry of the Chinese People’s Volunteer Army into the DPRK to participate in the anti-US aggression war and help Korea.
The ceremony was held at 8:45 am at the Chinese People’s Volunteer Army Cemetery in Shenyang, Liaoning Province, northeast China, and a flower basket that Xi had sent was placed in front of the Martyrs’ Memorial.
Officials, including Zhang Yuxia, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission, veterans and family members of the martyrs, attended the ceremony.
At 9:00 a.m., a similar ceremony was held in a war memorial tower in Dandong City in northeastern Liaoning Province, attended by Zhang Guoqing, secretary of the Liaoning Provincial Committee of the Chinese Communist Party.
Two separate ceremonies were held in the DPRK on Wednesday, offering baskets of flowers in Xi’s name at the Friendship Tower in Pyongyang and a cemetery for the martyrs of the Chinese People’s Volunteer Army in Huichang County. The Chinese Ambassador to the DPRK Li Jinjun attended the two parties.
On Wednesday, Kim Jong Un, Chairman of the Workers ‘Party of Korea and Chairman of the State Affairs Committee of the DPRK, laid a basket of flowers at the Martyrs’ Cemetery in Huichang. He also sent a basket of flowers to the Friendship Tower in Pyongyang.
