FM values ICRC’s efforts in releasing prisoners

SANA’A, Oct. 20 (YPA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hisham Sharaf, valued on Tuesday the great efforts played by of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the UN envoy office to Yemen in the release of prisoners.

In a letter written to the President of the ICRC, Peter Maurer, and the UN envoy for Yemen Martin Griffiths, the minister expressed the appreciation of the National Salvation Government the ICRC’s efforts that led to the success of prisoner exchange swap on October 15 and 16.

Sharaf renewed the government’s commitment to implementing the UN-sponsored Stockholm Agreements, including the prisoners’ agreement, and its preparations to engage in new negotiations for reach an agreement to release the rest of the captives.
