Fierce clashes break out among Islah, STC militias in Lahj

LAHJ, Oct. 20 (YPA) – Fierce clashes broke out on Tuesday among Islah party’s militias and UAE-backed southern transitional council militiamen in Lahj province, source told Yemen Press Agency.

The source affirmed that the clashes erupted among Islah militias and southern transitional militants in Tawr al-Baha district amid loud explosions heard in the area.

The source pointed out that militants of the fourth brigade which belongs to Islah party launched a violent attack against the southern militias in the ninth brigade.

Nine brigades cordoned off Tawr al-Baha district from all the northern and eastern sides, with the aim of controlling the district, which is the northern gateway to Aden city.
