ASIR, Oct. 20 (YPA) – Five Afghans were killed and nine others were wounded on Tuesday after two explosive devices were detonated in Wardak district, eastern Afghanistan.
“Xinhua” agency quoted the spokesman, Mohibullah Sharif Zia, as saying: “The two explosions, which occurred using improvised explosive devices, occurred in a short period of time in the municipality of Kota Ashro in the Jalrez district this morning.
He explained that the two explosions occurred after two cars passed on the improvised explosive devices that operate under pressure, and Taliban militants placed them on the main road.
The official added that the injured were taken to a hospital in Maidan Shahr, the provincial capital, 35 km west of the capital, Kabul.
Militants in Afghanistan are using improvised explosive devices (IEDs) to carry out roadside explosions and landmines to target security forces and civilians.
