Deputy PM calls for paying attention to Civil Defense Authority

SANAA, Oct. 17 (YPA) – The Deputy Prime Minister for Defense and Security Affairs, Lieutenant General Jalal Al-Rowishan, on Saturday stressed the importance of community awareness of disaster risks and how to contribute to reducing and confronting them.

During the launch of the awareness and training festival for disaster reduction, Lieutenant General Al-Rowishan called on the National Salvation Government to pay attention to the Civil Defense Authority and provide the necessary capabilities for it.

In turn, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for the Civil Services Sector, Major General Abdulaziz Mahfodh, confirmed that the Civil Defense Authority is in urgent need of attention and development to enable it to carry out its tasks.

He called for placing a comprehensive national plan to create community awareness of the importance of joining efforts to confront various disasters through a partnership between the Civil Defense Authority and various state institutions and the private and mixed sectors.
