Armed ambush targets STC’s militia in Lahj

LAHJ, Oct. 12 (YPA) – A number of militia recruits of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) were killed on Monday in an ambush in Yafea’ area of Lahj province, southern Yemen.

A tribal source said that tribal gunmen launched a surprise attack on the so-called “Security Belt” recruits of the STC in Qatnan village Al-Hadd Yafeh district, killing and injuring a number of them.

The clashes came after reconciliation between ‘Al-Diwan tribes of ‘Laba’ous area and the tribes of Qatnan Al-Hadd Yafe, after the latter kidnapped son of Jamal Obaid Al-Maysari, director of Laba’ous prison, early this week.
