SHABWA, Oct. 12 (YPA) – A tribal sit-in camp organized by Marakha tribes of Shabwa was bombed on Monday by UAE air forces in the province, eastern Yemen, tribal sources said.
The sources confirmed that the sit-in camp was inclused a number of the families of the victims of Al-Mihdhar and Al-Sada tribes was bombed by the Emirati air force, in front of Al-Alam camp in the west of Ataq city, the capital of the province.
The sit-in camp, in front of Al-Alam camp, by Markhah tribes on Sunday came to protest against killing 9 citizens by Emirati Apache helicopters that targeted the homes of citizens.
In January 2019, the Emirati Apache helicopters waged missile attacks on in the homes of citizens in the areas of Al-Sada and Al-Mihdhar, killing nine people in Ataq city.
The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) militia, in a military campaign, stormed the areas of Al-Sada Al-Mihdhar tribes, under the pretext of pursuing terrorists.
Earlier, the UAE had committed to the tribal mediation committee to pay 64 million Saudi riyals and build a dispensary and a water project, as compensation for the victims and the destruction of the citizens’ villages during the attack carried out by the STC militia against the homes in the city.
