Southern leader: The fall of Marib represents the fall of the last strongholds of the Brotherhood and Daesh

SANAA, Oct. 12 (YPA) – Mohammed al-Numani, spokesman for the Revolutionary Southern Movement forces, said the security movements escalation by Saudi-led  coalition forces comes as the army and popular committees approach the purge of Marib.

Al-Numani’s remarks came during an interview with al-Alam news channel .

The closer the fall of Marib gets, the more coalition countries step up their security tools against Yemen, and open other files, such as the exchange of prisoners, in order to postpone the entry of the army and popular committees into Marib, Mohammed al-Numani said.

Al-Numani also noted that the rules of engagement on the front lines in the northern provinces had changed and the balance of power had been in the hands of the army and popular committees.

He pointed out that the battles of Jawf are now revealing that there are new rules of engagement, adding: We are facing a media escalation of the aggression’s  countries in order to block the victories that are gradually achieved in Marib and Jawf.

“There will probably be new lines and rules of engagement in the coming days as part of the liberation of some of the southern provinces from the UAE-Saudi occupation,” al-Numani added.

He explained that Saudi Arabia tried to move Russian mediation on the cessation of hostilities in Mahrah province, but those efforts failed because of their non-compliance with the agreements.

The spokesman for the Revolutionary Southern Movement reiterated that the fall of Marib would be the fall of the last stronghold of the Muslim Brotherhood, Daesh and takfiri organizations in Yemen, despite regional parties trying to protect them before they fell to the hand of the army and popular committees.
