UAE sends dozens of militants to Shabwa

SHABWA, Oct. 11 (YPA) – UAE occupation forces have sent dozens of armed militias affiliated with the Southern Transitional Council (STC) to Balhaf facility (YLNG) in Shabwa province, east of Yemen, according tribal sources on Sunday.

The sources pointed out that the fierce clashes between the UAE-backed STC militia and Islah party militants broke out militants walls of the facility two weeks ago.

YLNG is the first natural gas liquefaction (LNG) project in Yemen. The LNG plant is located in Balhaf port of the province.

Shabwa governorate has seen military tensions between the STC militia and the Islah militants who seek to impose their control over the Balhaf port.

in August 2019, the Islah militants could be able to expel the Shabwani Elite militia from the city of Ataq, the capital of Shabwa.
