Islah Party militias arrest relatives of activist in Taiz

TAIZ, Oct. 8 (YPA) – An activist in ‘Jabal Habashi’ district of Taiz province said on Thursday that his relatives have been arrested by militias of Islah Party (the political arm of the Brotherhood in Yemen).

The activist Ramez Al-Sharehi said, on his Facebook page, that armed men linked to two militia leaders of the Islah party, called “Saeed Abdulqaher and Ali Abdulrazzaq,” had arrested his brothers and others of his relatives in Al-Ashrouh village in Jabal Habashi district.

He added that the Islah militia transferred his brothers and relatives to unknown destinations without the knowledge of the 17th Brigade deployed in the district or the knowledge of the security department.

Last week, the Islah militias stormed Al-Sharehi’s house and kidnapped his sixty-year-old father.

The Islah militias loyal to Saudi-led coalition have raided houses of the Al-Ashrouh village against the background of the residents’ objection to the smuggling operations to the areas controlled by Sanaa forces, according to activists.
