Kuwait’s emir rejects government resignation

SANAA, Oct. 7 (YPA) – The Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Nawaf al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah, confirmed his confidence in the Kuwaiti government to continue its work and fulfill its constitutional duties.

On Tuesday, the emir met with Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Khalid al-Hamad al-Sabah, who has submitted  his resignation and his government,  and placed it at the disposal of Sheikh Nawaf al-Ahmad, kuna news agency reported.

According to the agency,the Emir of Kuwait praised the efforts of the Prime Minister and its members in carrying out their ministerial duties,

He has high confidence in the current government to continue to carry out its duties, perform constitutional duties and complete preparations for the upcoming legislative elections

Kuwait is preparing for parliamentary elections, the first of its kind in the face of the new Corona virus pandemic.
