Foreign ministers of UN, Australia, India and Japan hold their second meeting

SANAA, Oct. 6 (YPA) – Australian Foreign Minister Senator Maryse Payne announced in a statement issued by her office that she participated on Tuesday in the Japanese capital, Tokyo, in the second meeting of the foreign ministers of India, Japan and the United States.

This meeting of the Quartet aims to strengthen Australia’s strong cooperation with vital partners in the Indo-Pacific region.

“I participated in the meeting along with Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Mutiji, Indian Foreign Minister Suprahamanam Jaishankar and US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo,” said Secretary Payne.

This visit represents a new opportunity to advance Australia’s interests, deepen ties with like-minded partners, and reaffirm our shared commitment to promoting a stable, inclusive and prosperous region. ”

It should be noted that the Quartet held its first formal meeting at the ministerial level about a year ago in New York.
