Israeli occupation arrests 37 Palestinians, including journalist
QUDS, Oct. 1 (YPA) – The Palestinian Prisoners Club said on Thursday that the Israeli occupation forces arrested 37 citizens, including former prisoners, overnight, Wednesday, September 30.
The Club added in a statement, quoted by “Reuters”, that the arrests were concentrated in the town of Issawiya in the occupied Quds, and included the journalist “Tareq Abu Zaid”, in Nablus, without reasons.
Israel uses an old British law that allows it to detain people without trial for a period ranging between three and six months, subject to renewal, on the grounds that there is a secret file of the detainee.
The Israeli occupation is holding about 5,000 Palestinian detainees in its prisons, including about 700 sick detainees and 41 women.
