PM directs Ministry of Electricity to develop plan for power generation

SANAA, Sep. 30 (YPA) – Prime Minister Dr. Abdulaziz bin Habtoor on Wednesday directed the Ministry of Electricity and Energy and its affiliated institutions to place a development plan for power generation, including the exploitation of renewable natural resources, particularly in remote areas.

This came during his meeting in Sanaa with Minister of Electricity and Energy Atiq Hussain Abbar and his deputy Abdulghani Al-Madani.

At the meeting, the Prime Minister listened to a report from Abbar about the ministry’s plan and its effort to reform and rehabilitate the national power network, as well as restarting a number of the ministry’s power plants.

The Minister of Electricity affirmed the Ministry’s intention to continue the development of power supplies in the capital Sanaa, reform the electrical network and implement a number of electrical projects in the targeted provinces during the coming period, according to the interim plan of the national vision for building the modern Yemeni state.
