ADEN, Sept. 27 (YPA) – A Somali prisoner died last Friday in one of prisons in the Southern port city of Aden, local sources said on Sunday.
According to local sources, prisoner Adam Ibrahim, a Somali national, has been charged with an attempted murder since 2014 has passed away in Mansoura prison.
The sources explained that the Somali prisoner died of Anemia, as he did not find the necessary health care from the prison administrators.
For the past six years, Adam has not been tried in a court and he refused to escape from prison at the outbreak of the war in 2015 and preferred to remain in his detention in Mansoura prison for six years pending execution until he died of Anemia.
Activists on social media on Sunday questioned the phenomenon of forgetting and neglecting by the attorney general, the public prosecutor and the Supreme Judicial Council of prisoners until their death.
The activists said, it was not enough to detain the Somali prisoner and give him a certificate of good conduct for not escaping, while prisoners fleeing Mansoura prison, today they are member of gangs looting property of others.
