NCM expects sporadic rains within next 24 hours

SANAA, Sep. 9 (YPA) – The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has expected sporadic rains in most Yemeni governorates within the next 24 hours.

The center said in its weather forecast that the rains, accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds, would fall in various parts of the western and southwestern mountain ranges from Saada governorate in the north to Taiz and Lahj in the south.

The center indicated that the rains might extend eastward to the deserts and hilltops in the governorates of Bayda, Abyan, Jawf, Shabwa, Hadramout and parts of Mahra, in addition to parts of the western, southern and eastern coasts.

“The possibility of very fast monsoons winds will hit the Socotra archipelago and parts of the eastern and southern coasts, with disturbing the sea,” it also expected.

The center warned citizens to stay away water gatherings in valleys and streams of torrents areas, calling to take the necessary precautions from rock landslides, a decrease in horizontal visibility in mountainous roads.
