Soldier disappears in Arabian Sea, US Navy says

SANAA, Sept. 8 (YPA) – The US Navy has announced that one of its soldiers in the northern Arabian Sea has been missing, according to Russia Today.

“The aircraft carrier USS Nimitz CVN 68 and the guided missile cruiser USS Princeton CG 59 are currently conducting search and rescue operations in the northern Arabian Sea following reports of the loss of a US Navy sailor,” the US Fifth Fleet said in a statement Sunday.

The name of the solider was withheld in accordance with United States Navy policy. But the Fifth Fleet announced that “updates will be provided when they become available.”

The statement issued by the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet did not mention the circumstances or causes of the disappearance.
