PM appreciates Zakat Authority’s role in combating poverty

SANAA, Sept. 6 (YPA) – Prime Minister Dr. Abdulaziz bin Habtoor on Sunday stressed the importance of the work carried out by the General Authority for Zakat during the last period in combating poverty by providing aid to the poor and needy.

Dr. bin Habtoor praised the Authority’s social projects that aim at economic empowerment of the target groups and pulling them out of poverty by providing training opportunities and work and production requirements.

This came during the Prime Minister’s meeting with Chairman of the General Authority for Zakat Sheikh Shamsan Abu Nashtan, who gave him a comprehensive presentation on the Authority’s activities for the past two years and the bygone period of this year.
