SANAA, Sept. 9 (YPA) – Chinese Defense Minister Wei Fenghe and Indian Rajnath Singh, at the end of their meeting in Moscow, affirmed their intention to maintain security and stability on the borders of the two countries.
“The two sides should take joint steps to contribute to reducing tension on the Chinese-Indian borders as soon as possible, and ensuring security and stability in the region,” Xinhua news agency quoted the Chinese minister as saying.
The meeting was held in Moscow on Friday on the sidelines of a meeting of defense ministers of the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Collective Security Treaty Organization and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
It is noteworthy that tensions between India and China have continued since last June, as clashes between the two countries’ forces on the borders resulted in deaths.
